This Oscar-winning 1977 romantic comedy, directed by Woody Allen, earned universal praise for its brilliant dialogue and performances. In the film, comedian Alvy Singer (Allen) examines the rise and fall of his relationship with nightclub singer Annie Hall (Diane Keaton).
Regarded among the greatest films ever made, Annie Hall ranks 31st on the American Film Institute’s list of the 100 greatest films in American cinema. The film won four Academy Awards: Best Picture, two for Allen (Best Director and, with Brickman, Best Original Screenplay), and Best Actress for Keaton. In 1992, the Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant."
