The Odeon is thrilled to welcome Susan Gibson to the stage on May 9. She is one of the most respected singer/songwriters in the country with one of the top-selling country songs of all time to her name -- “Wide Open Spaces” -- penned when she was just 22. The huge hit, hailed by the Record Industry Association of America as one of the “songs of the century,” launched The Dixie Chicks (now The Chicks) career and earned Susan “CMA Songwriter of the Year.” Over the course of her career, The West Texas Music Hall of Fame Entertainer of the Year has released seven solo albums, her most recent, "The Hard Stuff,” earning rave reviews.
Susan has been described as the most inventive songwriter of her generation, crafting great songs that share the qualities that made "Wide Open Spaces" such a hit - authenticity, wit, and themes to which just about anyone can relate. She shares with audiences the deepest and truest part of who she is through her songs, with a voice that’s both beautiful and unique.
